INDYCAR ACTION BEGINS THIS WEEKEND AT ST. PETE
- Chilton appearing in his second IndyCar season
- Switched to Honda power for 2017
- First race this weekend
British IndyCar racer Max Chilton is back in action this weekend on the streets of downtown St. Petersburg. Max’s Gallagher, Honda powered Chip Ganassi car will tackle the 1.8 mile, 14 turn circuit where he made his IndyCar debut in 2016.
Speaking this week, Chilton commented:
“I’m looking forward to getting back out there following pre-season testing. I enjoyed driving at St. Pete last year, I was on for a top 10 finish in my first IndyCar appearance before we suffered some overheating, leading to a long stop.”
“I’ve got more experience to call on this year and feeling good going into this weekend and encouraged by our test program. Hopefully we can be up the sharp end come Sunday afternoon”.
Qualifying gets underway at 14:55 local time and the race begins on Sunday 12th at noon.
